Our First Month with WildQuest Education: A Learning Adventure Begins!

It’s been an exciting first month for WildQuest Education, and we’re thrilled to share the journey with you! From launching our unique quizzes to kickstarting hands-on activities, we’ve been busy helping children and their families build a solid foundation in numeracy and literacy. Here’s a sneak peek at what we’ve been up to:

Starting the Learning Journey: Simple Quizzes to Tailor Your Child’s Pathway

One of the first things we introduced was a simple quiz designed to help parents and carers figure out where to begin their child’s learning journey. The quiz is quick, easy, and effective. By answering a few simple questions, you can gain a clearer understanding of your child's current numeracy skills. This helps you pinpoint the appropriate starting level to ensure a smooth and successful learning experience.

Whether your child is just starting or ready to level up, this quiz helps you make informed decisions about where to focus your attention first. It’s all about providing the right support at the right time!

Developing Number Awareness: Building Blocks for Success

Our first month’s main focus has been helping children develop number awareness—a crucial skill in early numeracy development. Through engaging, hands-on activities with their learning buddies (pets, stuffed animals, figurines, cars, or any favourite object), children are learning to recognise and understand numbers in a fun and interactive way.

These lessons are designed to foster one-to-one correspondence—understanding that each number corresponds to a specific quantity—while also enhancing number writing skills. It's amazing how powerful learning can be when your child is actively involved with their favourite toys!

Counting Skills with Learning Buddies and Nature Walks

In another exciting lesson, we’ve helped children enhance their counting skills through activities that incorporate nature walks. The beauty of nature provides endless learning opportunities, and with their learning buddies by their side, children are able to count objects they find along the way.

This lesson not only helps children practise counting but also encourages them to observe their environment more closely. By making learning part of the everyday world around them, children develop a deeper connection to numbers and the concept of quantity. It’s a fantastic way to get outside, explore, and learn!

Literacy Development: Letter Recognition with Learning Buddies

In addition to numeracy, we’ve also been focusing on developing literacy skills. One lesson, Letter Pathways, aims to help children recognise and understand letters using their learning buddies. This lesson focuses on fine motor skills and letter recognition through fun, hands-on activities. Whether it’s drawing letters with chalk or tracing them on paper, children are strengthening their fine motor abilities while learning the ABCs.

We love how personalised this learning experience is—whether they’re holding a stuffed animal or a toy car, every child brings their favourite object into the lesson, making it even more enjoyable and engaging!

Spelling Fun with a Treasure Hunt

To add a little adventure to the mix, we’ve designed a treasure hunt to enhance spelling skills. With their learning buddies by their side, children search for letters hidden around the house or yard. They then arrange these letters to form simple words. It’s a creative and exciting way to help children develop their spelling skills while having fun with their learning buddies.

Each activity is carefully designed to promote hands-on learning, helping children build a strong foundation in both numeracy and literacy. It’s about creating meaningful, enjoyable experiences that set children up for success in their learning journey.
